What this is
Customers returning from unselected regions can't submit at all. A customer shipping from a region you haven't enabled can't start a return through the portal — they'll have to email you, and your team handles it by hand. This is a hard block that appears like this in the portal:
Enabled doesn't mean automatic. In regions where ShipSidekick has no supported carrier set up, labels must be created manually even when your return label provider is set to ShipSidekick. The return still comes through — you just handle the shipping side yourself.
Deciding what to enable
Onward gives you detailed control over what regions you accept returns from, down to the state or province. By default, your account allows returns from the 50 U.S. States plus Washington D.C.
To enable other regions, consider the following:
Have you added an international carrier account to ShipSidekick? If not, you can still accept returns but the shipping labels would have to be arranged outside of our system.
International return labels are expensive and may involve customs paperwork or duties. If you enable international regions, consider an exception on label sponsor or maximum sponsored amount to keep international label costs controlled.
