What this is
A cap on what you'll spend on any single return label. When a label costs more than the amount you've set, you pay up to the cap and the customer covers the rest.
Example with a $10 maximum:
Label cost | You pay | Customer pays |
$8 | $8 | $0 |
$15 | $10 | $5 |
Label costs vary with weight, dimensions, and distance. A cap lets you offer free returns on typical orders while limiting your cost on oversized or long-distance ones. A common starting point is slightly above your typical domestic return label cost.
What the customer sees
If the label cost exceeds the cap, the customer's share appears in the financial breakdown on the review screen before they submit. There's no charge after the fact.
