Do I have to pay for return shipping?

The cost of your return shipping depends on who’s covering it—Onward, the merchant, or you. Before you generate your label, check the Returns Portal to see which sponsorship applies:

• Onward Sponsored

  When Onward is covering your return, you’ll see “Onward Sponsored” in the bottom-right corner of the portal page (as shown below). In this case, return shipping is fully covered by Onward, and you pay nothing to send your item back.

• Merchant Sponsored

  If the merchant has elected to offer free returns, your label will be Merchant Sponsored. This means the store absorbs the shipping cost—you won’t be charged for the return.

• Customer Sponsored

  If neither Onward nor the merchant is sponsoring your return, your label will be Customer Sponsored. At checkout in the portal, you’ll be presented with the return‐label fee before you confirm your resolution preference.
