Shop Now Tab Overview

Let customers shop your catalog immediately with their return credit.

Shop Now lets customers spend their return credit on new items instead of taking a refund. Rather than simply swapping for a different size of the same product, they can browse from the collections you choose and put the credit toward anything.

Navigate to Settings > Returns > Shop Now.

Shop Now

Turn this on to let customers shop within the Return flow.

What the customer sees:

  1. After indicating the items they are returning, they're shown a miniature storefront.

  2. They browse the collections you've chosen, view products, and pick variants.

  3. Their available credit is shown throughout, including any bonus incentives.

  4. If the new items cost more than their credit, they pay the difference.

  5. If the new items cost less, the remainder is issued through their chosen resolution.

  6. They can decline and continue with a refund or store credit instead.

A connected Stripe account is required so customers can pay a difference. See Setting up Stripe Connect.

Shop Now bonus

Extra credit issued when a customer chooses to shop. This is the lever that makes Shop Now more attractive than a refund. Choose a bonus type — percentage, fixed amount per item, fixed amount per return, or none — then enter the amount in the field that appears.

A common setup is a smaller store credit bonus and a larger Shop Now bonus, since a completed purchase now is worth more to you than an outstanding credit balance.

Collections

Choose which parts of your catalog customers can shop from. Search for a collection to add it, drag the handle to reorder, and click Remove to take one out.

Order matters. The top four products in your first collection appear directly on the return resolution page, before the customer has browsed anything. That's the most valuable placement in the whole return flow, so put your strongest collection first — and check its price points against a typical return value.

Related settings on other tabs

Whether customers can return the items they bought through Shop Now is controlled by Allow returns of Exchanges and Shop Now orders on the Policies tab. When enabled, those returns resolve as store credit only.
