Store credit as a return resolution, plus an optional bonus issued if the customer selects it.
Where to find it

What this is
Store Credit issues credit when the customer selects it as their resolution. Credit is issued once the return is processed, and the customer is emailed.
Store credit bonus adds extra credit on top of the return value when a customer chooses store credit over a refund. Choose a bonus type, then enter the amount in the field that appears:
Type | How it's calculated |
None | No bonus offered |
Percentage | A share of the return value. 10% on a $50 return gives the customer $55. |
Fixed amount per item | A flat bonus for each item returned |
Fixed amount per return | A flat bonus once per return, regardless of item count |
A percentage bonus scales with order value; a fixed amount per return is proportionally larger on small returns.
What the customer sees
The bonus amount is displayed in the portal when the customer chooses their resolution, alongside the refund option if refunds are enabled.

Caveats
Store credit is the only resolution available on gift returns, since a refund would go back to the purchaser rather than the recipient.
Returns of exchange, Shop Now, and replacement orders also resolve as store credit only, when those returns are allowed.
