Connecting Onward to ChatGPT

Add Onward as a connector in ChatGPT so you can ask about your Onward data in chat.

⚠️ Custom MCP apps in ChatGPT require a Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan, and these steps are for workspace admins. Other members can use the Onward app once an admin has added it.

Connect Onward in ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Workspace settings > Apps

  2. Click Create. Name the app “Onward,” enter https://app.useonward.com/mcp as the Connection URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.

  3. Click Create. Onward now appears under Settings > Apps > Enabled Apps with a Dev label.

  4. Click into the newly added Onward app and click Connect.

  5. Your browser navigates to Onward. Sign in if prompted, review the requested access, and click Authorize.

  6. In a new chat, select Onward from the tools menu or @mention it in your message, then ask your question. Try a prompt such as “List the shops I have access to in Onward.”
